Machame Route – 6 Days

Known for scenic beauty and diverse landscapes. More challenging due to steeper paths and longer days. Camping throughout the trek.
Itinerary Summary:
  • Day 1: Arrival, briefing, and overnight at Aishi Machame Hotel.

  • Day 2: Trek Machame Gate (1800m) → Machame Camp (3000m) – rainforest.

  • Day 3: Trek to Shira Camp (3850m) – moorland.

  • Day 4: Acclimatization at Lava Tower (4600m), descend to Barranco Camp (3950m).

  • Day 5: Trek to Barafu Camp (4600m) – alpine desert.

  • Day 6: Summit Uhuru Peak (5895m) → descend to Mweka Camp (3100m).

  • Day 7: Descend to Mweka Gate (1750m), return to hotel.

Marangu Route (Coca-Cola Route) – 6 Days

Known as the “easier” route; less steep but longer acclimatization. Only route with hut accommodations.More comfortable but less scenic than Machame.

Itinerary Summary:

  • Day 1: Arrival, briefing, and overnight at Keys Hotel, Moshi.

  • Day 2: Trek Marangu Gate (1830m) → Mandara Hut (2700m) – rainforest.

  • Day 3: Trek to Horombo Hut (3720m) – moorland.

  • Day 4: Acclimatization hike to Zebra Rock (4050m), optional hike to Mawenzi.

  • Day 5: Trek to Kibo Hut (4700m) – alpine desert.

  • Day 6: Midnight summit to Uhuru Peak (5895m) → descend to Horombo Hut.

  • Day 7: Trek down to Marangu Gate, return to hotel.

Lemosho Route – 8 Days

One of the most scenic and least crowded routes. Offers excellent acclimatization profile with gradual ascent. Camping along the route.Starts on the western side of Kilimanjaro and joins Machame route.

  • Day 1:Londorossi Gate (7,800 ft) → Forest Camp (9,500 ft)

  • Day 2:Forest Camp → Shira Camp 1 (11,500 ft)

  • Day 3:Shira Camp 1 → Shira 2 → Moir Hut (13,800 ft)

  • Day 4:Moir Hut → Lava Tower → Barranco Camp (13,000 ft)

  • Day 5:Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp (13,100 ft)

  • Day 6:Karanga Camp → Barafu Camp (15,300 ft)

  • Day 7:Barafu Camp → Uhuru Peak (19,345 ft) → Mweka Hut (10,000 ft)

  • Day 8:Mweka Hut → Mweka Gate (5,400 ft)

  • Includes:
